Dreaming about your perfect Dream Trip? do you want to check off boxes on your bucket list? Need to escape from your normal routine?
Look no further than to find some amazing reasons why now is the perfect time to travel.
Shoulder season (a.k.a. low season) is here for only a short time, after the rush of the spring break high prices, and before the summer travelers start, and that means cheaper airfare, more room categories at some resorts, less busy destinations, and some cruises are offering free passengers.
Do I need to tell you anymore? Well if you are curious, keep reading.
1. Airfare deals are here for now.
Generally airfare is going to cost you a heck of a lot (if you are like me and travelling from Canada). I can't completely justify it, but since I love to travel I tend to like to fly off season, as I can generally get a better deal on my flight. I also tend to fly mid week instead of on the weekend and get generally get a much better deal, sometimes flying in the afternoon too, instead of the weekend. The only problem I find, since I travel with my kids, is that a lot of business people travel during the week and they tend not to appreciate my kids in the airports, or on the plane as much. Thankfully they are getting older and I am not as concerned with crying babies anymore. Overall the boys are pretty well seasoned travelers and don't bother people too much. But that does mean our chances of a business class upgrade are non-existent during the week.
2. Vacations are good for you
Do I need to say more? I mean of course getting away from our regular routine, and spending quality time with loved ones is good for us. But seeing the world is good for us in another way. Showing our kids, the different cultures and exploring places that have been around over a century and trying new foods, are all part of the reason why traveling is so good for you. It doesn't necessarily mean sitting on the beach with a cold drink in my hand, watching the kids build a sand castle by the ocean (do other people's kids actually do that, because mine don't, haha), isn't good for you. It just means that the world is such an amazing place and we are only on this planet for a short time, why not experience as much of it as possible.
3. Use your vacation days from work
I do understand that sometimes we need to take time off to get things done around the house, maybe its a renovation, or your kids are away at summer camp, and you are going to go through their clothes or redecorate. Sometimes we need that time to complete tasks that we have put on the back burner at home. BUT sometimes, just sometimes, we need to escape the normal routine, jump on a plane, or train and go explore this earth. Besides, you might not get to keep your vacation days next year so why waste them. I am also pretty sure I read somewhere that people are more productive at work, when they are well rested!!
4. Spednign quality time with your loved ones
This is something that I see the value in immediately. With so much technology in our lives, vacation to me means unplugging from it all and truly experiencing the world with my family. Whether that means getting lost on a cobblestone path in England, or laughing so hard you forget how to breathe on a beach. it is all about making memories with my family that will last a lifetime.
